5 Questions you should ask before choosing a remodeling expert

1. Are they a licensed contractor?

To obtain a license, a contractor must have a minimum required amount of experience & pass a state licensing exam. A licensed contractor also offers the homeowner significant protection. Among these, the ability to file a complaint against the contractor’s license should the workmanship be below standard or in violation of existing codes.

JMK carries the B-03 general contracting license.

2. Do they have references?

Make sure that others have quality references that go back several years and ask if you may contact them if you feel the need to ask specific questions about how the contractor works. You can also check with the Registrar of Contractors to see if there are any registered complaints or unresolved issues.

Mike did a great job for us on replacing the granite of our countertop and black splash with much better looking quartzite, and also replacing the sink and faucets.
